The site has been running, in various guises, since late April 2003.  

Archive 1 : May 2003: A first attempt at a web site - being a view of the world as seen through the eyes of our ex-racehorse, Alezane.  
Archive 2 : May 2003: The first change was to include the local South Zeal area in this view.  
Archive 3 : June 2003:  Launch of a revised site, under the title of www.south-zeal.co.uk.  
Archive 4 : September 2003: This grew to include much of the content that we have today.  
Archive 5 : October 2003: The next re-launch, under the name www.beacon-villages.co.uk, with a monthly Journal, to widen the site's appeal.
Archive 6 : October 2006: The site was given to the South Zeal community when I moved to France. After finding a house and spending a while settling in, I started a website - Dartmoor Photos - based on the monthly photo albums from Beacon Villages and then adding monthly albums from France.

In 2008, I started a photographic website for my new village - Saint Pierre des Nids and some of these photos find their way into Dartmoor Photos.

In July 2009, I rebuilt the site as it is now (without the monthly Journal and Local information) - South Zeal & its Dartmoor Environment - to provide a rational background to the Dartmoor based photo albums.
