Wiz Francis and Jo Royal travelled to Goa in February 2004 to visit one of the children's homes set up by the lady who recently visited Wiz and gave a slide show of her projects. They took donations of light clothes and sandals/plimsolls for the children (babies - teenage sizes) and swimwear and arm bands. They took as much as possible with them - there is a weight restriction of 20kgs excess baggage. Anything which they couldn't take they sold and took the money instead! They held a garage sale at Sticklepath Village Hall on Saturday 7th February. If you would like to donate to this cause, ring: Wiz 01837 840557 or Jo 01837 659467

"I found children living off the streets with no homes, no families and not even a birth certificate to entitle them to hospital treatment or education."
How many of our children have to get up at 5.15 to complete a rigorous routine of washing and cleaning? And look so happy about it? While the photo may be posed, and one can get used to anything (as our older farmers may remember from their childhood), it can't be much fun to have to live 'in a home'.
If we can do just a little, to make their lives a bit better, then we should support Wiz and Jo to do it on our behalf.
